Common Questions
Nº.1 Bond Multiplier® is OLAPLEX’s most concentrated form of our patented Bond Building Technology®. It is designed to be added into chemical formulas (hair color, lighteners, permanent waves, etc.) to help strengthen and protect disulfide bonds inside the hair from the damage caused by chemical services. (Please see mixing chart for recommended mixing instructions). It can also be used as the first step of a Strength & Repair Stand Alone Treatment™, by mixing it with water (see mixing instructions) and applying to the hair. Anytime Nº.1 Bond Multiplier® is used, it should be followed by applying Nº.2 Bond Perfector®.
Nº.2 Bond Perfector® is the second step after using Nº.1 Bond Multiplier®. It is used by itself and applied to the hair following the chemical service. It is designed to flood the hair with OLAPLEX’s patented Bond Building Technology® and to penetrate deep into the hair shaft to relink broken disulfide bonds and prevent the formation of Cysteic Acid inside the hair.
Nº.1 Bond Multiplier® has a pH of 3.5-4.2.
Nº.2 Bond Perfector® has a pH of 3.5-5.0.
Yes. If using Nº.1 Bond Multiplier®, it must be followed with Nº.2 Bond Perfector® to complete the strengthening and repair process. Nº.1 works to mitigate damage and fortify the bonds during a chemical service, while Nº.2 Bond Perfector® works by itself to completely saturate the hair with OLAPLEX’s patented Bond Building Technology® to repair and relink all the bonds within the hair.
Following the mixing instructions, add 1/2oz of Nº.1 Bond Multiplier® to 90ml of water in an applicator bottle. Apply to dry or damp hair (utilize Nº.4C or Broad Spectrum Chelating Treatment before to remove any buildup if necessary). Allow to process on the hair for up to 10 minutes. Apply Nº.2 Bond Perfector® directly on top of Nº.1. Use enough to fully saturate the hair. No heat is required. Visibly stronger, healthier benefits will be achieved in as little as 3 minutes, with maximum benefits in 10 minutes. Rinse out of the hair, and cleanse with Nº.4 Bond Maintenance® & condition with Nº.5 Bond Maintenance® Conditioner.
