After Sun Care for Kids

Colorists spend hours trying to replicate the color children get from playing in the sun all day. Glistening sun-kissed locks from hours of outdoor activity from building sandcastles on the beach to playing tag at the park. By the end of summer, your kid’s hair will look like a $600 hair color appointment just from being lightened naturally by the sun. Just like chemicals in the salon damage the hair, environmental damage from prolonged sun exposure also does. It may not mean much to them, but keeping their hair healthy means strong, shiny, resilient hair with increased manageability for back-to-school styles! Luckily, OLAPLEX is kid-safe, non-toxic, and here to do just that by rebuilding their hair from sun and chlorine damage.

An easy way to get their hair on the right track is by using OLAPLEX No.4 and No.5 Shampoo and Conditioner to rebuild their hair during bath or shower time. Both No.4 and No.5 contain nutrient dense ingredients to not only rebuild the hair, but to also cleanse and moisturize it! No.5 uses naturally derived ingredients like Green Tea Seed Oil, Abyssinian Oil, Avocado Oil, Grape Seed Oil, and Red Marine Algae that each play their own role when it comes to intensely moisturizing the hair. While No.4 has Acetic Acid, Rosemary Leaf Extract, Biotin, Oregano Extract, Burdock Root Extract, and Sodium Hyaluronate in it to bring optimum health to their scalps– perfect for chlorine and salt water build up. Just shampoo and condition their hair as you normally would (a little goes a long way)– they’ll love the extra foamy lather!

Increased sun exposure on the hair can lead to broken, split hair that is more susceptible to tangling, being harder to manage overall. We recommend using OLAPLEX No.3 on their hair twice a month to rebuild it from all the sun, making your lives easier when it comes to brushing and styling! Just start by dampening their hair with a spray bottle, squeezing the product out and applying it to the hair. You’ll want a comb handy to comb the product through the hair, evenly distributing it throughout the head. This is also a great way to tackle detangling your child’s hair! When detangling, always begin with sections, brushing or combing from the bottom, working your way upwards. Keep the No.3 on for 10 minutes, then rinse, shampoo, and condition as you normally would during bath time or showering.

Using OLAPLEX is a great way to keep your child or children’s hair in tact not only for the summertime, but year round! OLAPLEX works on every hair type, meaning kids of all hair textures can benefit from having healthier hair (and so can you!).
